01 — The idea
A keyhole inside a letterform is a reduction problem before it is a design problem.
Client
A cyber security firm
Construction
True 180-degree rotational symmetry, with the keyhole placed dead on the centre of rotation and sized for 16 px first.
03 — On light
Ink on Bone
03 — On dark
Signal Violet on Ink
05 — Clear space
Clear space equals the keyhole's diameter on all four sides.
Minimum 14 mm wide. Verified as a 16 px favicon.
06 — Scale
Favicon: the S alone, keyhole intact. Below 12 mm the wordmark is dropped and the symbol stands alone.
08 — Typography

09 — Do and do not
✓Keep the two leaf terminals identical in length and angle
✓Size the keyhole for the favicon, then scale up
✓Give holographic foil generous apertures
✕Never scale the keyhole proportionally down
✕Never break the rotational symmetry
✕Never set the mark where the slot can fill

A studio identity exercise. Mark, palette, type system and usage rules by the Print Peppermint design team.
Every identity we build ships with the file the press needs: vector mark, one-colour version, favicon set, Pantone Uncoated references and a guide like this one.
