How do I setup artwork for Foil Stamped product?

Only one type of foil per order can be used (you cannot order a Foil Worx job with Gold on the front and Silver on the back).

Foil job files are set up exactly like our Spot UV job files.

You must provide a distinct Foil mask file: having black in the parts you want the foil and white in the parts you do not want the foil.

All black parts must be solid 100% K with no added colors.

If an order has a Foil Worx job with Spot UV, separate mask files for the Foil (foil mask) and UV (spot uv mask) must be provided (in this case you might need to provide 6 of them.

But remember, Foil and UV coating don’t overlap, both must be at least 1/16″ apart to avoid the foil to peel off.

Also, do not use small or fine text or lines for foil objects. For good results, make sure your foil coverage is less than 50% of the entire side of print.

Furthermore, note that there might be up to a 1/16″ shift on the location of the foil.

Remember this if you try to align foil with any other printed artwork on your card.

For best quality, mask files created in vector-based programs like CorelDRAW and Illustrator is recommended.
