SoLo Eye Care & Eyewear Gallery ↗Cut and gilded like the frames
Single-sided SoLo Eye Care card on black uncoated stock with yellow gold foil stamping and rounded corners. The photographed face carries the wordmark and contact details.

The idea
SoLo Eye Care is a locally owned Chicago eye care practice, founded in 2005 and now at six locations. Its Gold Coast location at One East Delaware Place is the smallest of the boutiques. It houses SoLo's private collection of high-end eyewear, including frames in precious metals from partners like Cartier, Lindberg and Tom Ford.
Two rules
- 01Yellow gold on black. Yellow gold foil stamped on black uncoated stock for the single printed face.
- 02Rounded corners. Rounded corners, like the curve of a lens.
Why it works
The contrast between the black sheet and yellow gold foil keeps the one printed face legible without adding a second design.
Start from these materials
Same paper, foil and finish, locked in — nothing of SoLo Eye Care & Eyewear Gallery's artwork comes with it.
Questions

- What changes with rounded corners?
- They soften the outline of the card without adding a second printed surface.
- Is the yellow gold printed ink?
