Pantone® 2757 Uncoated: Pantone 2757 op uncoated karton
Transparant: dekt geen donker papier. Drukkers schrijven het PMS 2757 U; huisstijlrichtlijnen schrijven het meestal Pantone® 2757 Uncoated. Dezelfde inkt, dezelfde plaat: de letter is het papier waarop hij landt. Op coated papier in dezelfde kleur is PMS 2757 C, en het ziet er niet hetzelfde uit.

Gecoat of ongecoat, eerlijk bekeken
The same ink is not the same colour on the two stocks. On coated sheets the ink sits on a sealed surface: denser, brighter, sharper edges. On uncoated the fibres absorb it: softer, duller, slightly lighter, and warm colours lose the most punch. Some colours change character outright: brights go chalky, deep navies go grey-blue.

Gedrag in productie
- A deeper, greener navy than 294. Reads almost black on uncoated: if you want the blue to still read as blue in the hand, go lighter.
Op donker papier
Offset and letterpress inks are translucent. On a dark or coloured stock a light ink will not cover: it sinks into the sheet and reads tone-on-tone. For light colour on dark paper the answer is foil stamping or an opaque screen pass, never a straight PMS hit.

Een CMYK-opbouw van een steunkleur is een benadering, niet de kleur zelf. Het maakt het meeste uit bij grote egale vlakken, bij merkkritische elementen en bij felle kleuren en diepe blauwtinten die proceskleur simpelweg niet haalt. Het maakt het minste uit bij kleine tekst en in foto's.

- What does Pantone 2757 look like on uncoated paper?
- Zachter, doffer en iets lichter dan het gecoate staal. Ongecoate vezels nemen de inkt op in plaats van die op een gesloten oppervlak te laten liggen, waardoor de verzadiging overal afneemt. Het ongecoate staal hier is afgeleid van de gecoate benadering: bestel de stalenset, of vraag ons de inkten na je bestelling af te stemmen.
- Can you print Pantone 2757 on dark or coloured stock?
- Not as a standard ink hit. Pantone 2757 is translucent, so on dark stock the paper colour comes through and the result is tone-on-tone. For this colour on dark paper we foil stamp or run an opaque screen instead.
- Can Pantone 2757 be matched in CMYK?
- Soms. Een opbouw in CMYK is in beeld of kleine tekst meestal acceptabel, maar valt bij een groot egaal vlak of een merkteken meestal op. Is dit je merkkleur, houd het dan een steunkleur.

Pantone 2757 on Gmund Colors Metallic Metallic 84. Ink is translucent: on a metallic 84, high-pigment metallic/pearl face with a fine embossed structure; reflective and three-dimensional sheet the printed colour shifts toward the paper. Sign off against a printed sample, not the chip.
