    The catch

Rounded-corner card for Asiatico Law with a red painted edge: a black-and-white photograph of trapeze artists catching each other with 'Trusted legal counsel for nonprofits' on the front, and a portrait reverse with the firm name above a brushstroke that fades from red to silver foil.

Business-cards for Asiatico Law with silver foil stamping, rounded corners, red painted edge and b&w photo.

    The idea

Asiatico Law, PLLC provides legal services for charities and nonprofits, with offices in Plano, Texas and Tampa, Florida.

    Two rules

    1. 01A metaphor instead of a gavel. A black-and-white photograph of two trapeze artists at the moment of the catch.
    2. 02Foil that fades. A brushstroke that begins in dark red ink and ends in mirror silver foil, with a red painted edge framing both sides.

    Why it works

The photograph shows what the firm offers, someone who will catch you, better than a written description could.

    Start from these materials

Same paper, foil and finish, locked in — nothing of Asiatico Law's artwork comes with it.

    Questions

Can a photo and foil go on the same card?
Yes. The photo is printed first and the foil stamped over it, registered to the artwork.
What does a painted edge add?
It frames both sides and is visible in a stack.
    Can ink blend into foil?
The effect is made by overlapping a printed gradient with a foil shape, registered so the transition looks continuous.
