    Artwork for a specific piece

    Both sides, one clear idea.

Business card artwork is the two-sided layout of your card at its actual trim, stock and finish, with every small detail set to survive the press and the finish separated on its own layer.

Supplied CMYK raster → Vector master

A raster has no line weight to hold to. Traced and rebuilt, every stroke has a measurable thickness we can lift to the foil floor, and foil, letterpress and blind emboss all become possible in the same pass.

    How it runs

Four steps, each one on paper.

Bring your mark and copy; choose the card size, stock and finish before we set type.

    Production standards

    The details that matter here.

    Duplex business card edges

    Two common trims

A US 3.5 × 2 inch card and an 85 × 55 mm card need separate artwork; never scale one casually into the other.

    Corners and safety

Set the safe area to the actual trim and corner radius, then move small type clear of the cut.

    Questions before we start.

What bleed do you need on a business card?

3 mm bleed on every edge, with all critical content held 3 mm inside the trim. Foil and emboss sit a further 2 mm in, because registration moves under pressure.

Can you set up my card for foil?

Yes. The foil sits on its own layer at 100% of a single spot, with a minimum line weight of 0.5 pt. We separate it and name the tolerance on the spec sheet.

What if the first layout misses the mark?

Tell us what is not working. One chosen direction is refined against your feedback; a new brief is a new scope and we discuss that first.

Do I own the finished files?

Yes. The approved artwork and its production files are yours. Fonts licensed from others remain subject to their licence.

Can you keep my colours and existing artwork?

Send the best original file you have and your colour references. We keep what survives the actual stock and process, then show any unavoidable change before approval.
