Herbst Construction — business cards
Eight superintendents, one card system. The grey-over-black duplex reads as concrete and steel; the orange foiled edge is the brand's only colour.

Two rules
- 01Letterpress before duplexing. Letterpressed the grey sheet on its own, then bonded it to the black sheet, so the bite stays deep and the back stays clean. The black back…
- 02Safety orange on the edge. Foil-stamped the edge in safety orange, so the line stays crisp and solid across both plies.
The brief
Business card 3.5×2 in, 32pt duplex: warm grey uncoated face bonded to a black back; edges foil-stamped safety orange. FRONT: "HERBST" wordmark in a bold slab serif, black letterpress, with "EST. 2003 · QUALITY & INTEGRITY · DETAILED & BESPOKE" in small caps around a thin rule. BACK: black, name "Guy Murray" and "SUPERINTENDENT" in wide-tracked caps, contacts and "CA Lic #824657" in white foil.

Questions
- What is the Herbst Construction business cards printed on?
- 32pt duplex, grey / black, Black letterpress on the grey face, White foil on the black back, Edge foil, safety orange. Every line of that spec is what actually ran, not a proposal.
- Why letterpress before duplexing?
- Pressing a bonded 32pt block can crush the seam and flatten the bite. We letterpressed the grey sheet first, then bonded it to the black sheet. The black back carries white foil, not ink: light ink sinks into black stock and disappears.
- Can Print Peppermint print this specification again?
- Yes. The materials on this page are live registry items, and the Studio link opens with the same paper, foil and finish locked in for your own artwork.
