Lid, front and wrap
Lid: tell us the diameter and we size the round label on the proof. Front: measure the flat area before the shoulder curves away. Wrap: send the circumference and usable height so the ends meet where you want them. Round labels and wraps are quoted.
Kraft, textured paper or film
The kraft-and-copper image is a design exploration, not a stocked label-paper promise. Tell us you want that look and get a price with the stock confirmed first. Our listed paper faces are felt-textured, laid, cotton-look cream or white, smooth uncoated, and black or coloured uncoated.
For skincare handled with wet fingers or oily jars, choose white or clear BOPP film. Paper is not waterproof. On film, use metallic ink or metallised film instead of hot foil.
Small-batch makers
Farmers’ market honey, gift jam and holiday hampers can share a label family across sizes. Send each jar’s measurements and quantity, with the ingredients and other text you want printed. We print what you approve; food labelling and FDA nutrition-panel compliance are yours.
Your label, your spec

Every foil label run needs its own foil die, and the die, stock and finish all move the price, so we quote foil labels to your spec rather than guess. Tell Peppermint Studio the size, the quantity and where the product lives, and you'll get a price and a stock recommendation before you pay anything.

Artwork drawn to the label
Foil is binary: an area is fully foiled or it's bare paper. These rules decide whether your label survives the press:
- Fine detail survives foil. Lines hold to 0.1 mm; we design to 0.15 mm, with internal gaps around 0.25 mm.
- Foil type at 7 pt or larger. 8 pt is safer, type knocked out of a foil shape needs 10 pt, and high-contrast serifs (thin hairline strokes) need 12 pt. Ingredients, legal lines and anything smaller go in ink.
- Foil never sits on top of ink. We knock the ink out under the foil and leave a 1 mm gap between them. Foil and full colour share a label side by side.
- No gradients, shadows or photos in foil. Each foil becomes one solid tone.
- Foil 3 mm inside the cut line, or run it 3 mm past. A foil border that stops 1 mm short of the edge looks crooked once the cut shifts slightly.
- Barcodes and QR codes print in flat dark ink on a light ground, never foil or emboss, with foil kept at least 1 mm clear, so scanners can read them. On a black or dark label, that means a back label on light stock.
- Soft corners on custom shapes. Tight inside corners and narrow necks tear when the label is peeled off its liner, so we soften the radius slightly on the die. Nobody notices it on the shelf; everybody notices it on the applicator.
You don't need to get this perfect yourself. A person checks every file before the die is made, and tells you in one line anything we changed and why. What size label for a jar lid?
Tell us the lid diameter and we'll size it on the proof.
Kraft or white?
Cotton-look white and cream are on our listed label-stock range. The pictured kraft label is a design exploration; ask for that look and we confirm the stock with your quote rather than promise it as a stocked option.
Can you print ingredients and nutrition panels?
We print the text you supply; compliance is yours. We print what you approve on the proof and do not write or check FDA nutrition panels or regulatory copy.
Waterproof options?
Non le nostre su carta. Le carte per etichette materiche e non patinate assorbono l'umidità, quindi un'etichetta in lamina su carta si ammorbidisce e si stacca in un secchiello del ghiaccio, in frigo o sotto la doccia. Per prodotti bagnati o refrigerati usiamo un'etichetta in film BOPP bianco o trasparente con adesivo permanente. Sul film otteniamo la brillantezza con inchiostro metallizzato o un film metallizzato invece della lamina a caldo, perché l'adesione della lamina su alcuni film non è affidabile. Il risultato è un luccichio satinato, non uno specchio.
Minimum?
250 etichette. Ogni tiratura richiede un proprio cliché per la lamina e un proprio avviamento macchina, e questo lavoro costa lo stesso per 50 etichette come per 250. Sotto le 250, il prezzo per etichetta non ha più senso. Per tirature maggiori facciamo un preventivo.
How long?
Plan on about 3 weeks of production after you approve the proof, then transit. That's an estimate, not a guarantee. If you're working to a launch, tell us the date when you order and we'll say honestly whether it's realistic.
Samples?
Our sample kit is 9 €, with a 15 € credit toward your first order. It holds samples of our papers and finishes, plus a hot foil swatch card with 40 stamped foils, so you can hold a foil against your own bottle in your own light. It doesn't include label stock today. Every label order also gets a free proof before anything is stamped.
