Un nero perfettamente opaco, senza alcun riflesso, così nulla compete con il bianco. L'INCHIOSTRO bianco qui non è un'opzione: gli inchiostri litografici e letterpress sono traslucidi e diventano grigi su una carta satura. Una lamina a pigmento bianco coprente, invece, si posa in superficie e resta bianca. La carta è colorata in pasta, quindi una finestra fustellata o un bordo rifilato restano neri, senza mostrare un'anima chiara.
