Cotton turns vivid oranges into a softer, more tactile colour; coated stock holds their brightness. On coloured paper the sheet shifts the hue, so choose opaque foil when a bright orange must stand clear of a dark ground.

- The same ink is not the same colour on the two stocks. On coated sheets the ink sits on a sealed surface: denser, brighter, sharper edges. On uncoated the fibres absorb it: softer, duller, slightly lighter, and warm colours lose the most punch. Some colours change character outright: brights go chalky, deep navies go grey-blue.
- Offset and letterpress inks are translucent. On a dark or coloured stock a light ink will not cover: it sinks into the sheet and reads tone-on-tone. For light colour on dark paper the answer is foil stamping or an opaque screen pass, never a straight PMS hit.

- Questi arancioni cambiano sulla carta non patinata?
- Yes. Uncoated fibres absorb the ink, so it generally reads softer and less saturated. Judge the physical chip that matches your stock.
- Posso avere questi arancioni su carta scura?
- Gli inchiostri standard per offset e stampa a caratteri mobili sono trasparenti. Per un colore chiaro su carta scura, scegli una lamina coprente o un passaggio serigrafico adeguato.
- Potete invece riprodurne uno in CMYK?
- A volte. Un'approssimazione in quadricromia può andare bene per le immagini, ma i grandi colori di brand a tinta piena mostrano la differenza in modo più evidente. Confronta i riferimenti fisici per la carta scelta.
- Il CMYK può raggiungere un arancione spot brillante?
- Molti arancioni brillanti sono fuori dal gamut della quadricromia. Per un marchio pieno in cui il colore è decisivo, mantieni un inchiostro spot. Usa un'approssimazione in quadricromia solo se il risultato più morbido è accettabile.
