    You have a name

An identity made to be held.

Identity for print is a mark, typography and material language designed together from a name, so the stock and finishes are part of the identity rather than chosen after it.

Identity study · Halyard — Navy single-colour screen print on canvas

    How it runs

Four steps, each one on paper.

    1. 01

      Start with the real piece

Tell us the name, what the business does and where the identity will be seen and held. We agree the printed pieces before drawing.

    2. 02

      See it on the stock

Directions arrive as brand sheets on the stock and finish we would specify, never as flat PNGs on white.

    3. 03

      Refine and resolve

One chosen direction is refined against your feedback and the limits of the selected process.

    4. 04

      Receive the production files

Outlined vector masters, process separations and a spec sheet naming what the press needs to hold.

    The handoff

    Is this the right service?

When you need this. When you don't.

    Production standards

    The details that matter here.

    Press colour bar

    One system, several scales

A mark must survive the smallest printed application as well as the largest; choose dimensions before approving a direction.

    Uncoated spent-grain paper

    Paper changes colour

Ink on uncoated stock is not the same shade as ink on screen; specify the paper with the mark.

    Questions before we start.

Do you design logos or only print them?

We do both, and we draw with the die already in mind. The stock and finish are specified in the same pass as the drawing.

    How are directions presented?

As brand sheets rendered on the stock and finish we would specify, so you judge the mark the way customers will meet it.

Do I own the finished files?

Yes. The approved artwork and its production files are yours. Fonts licensed from others remain subject to their licence.
