    • Surface: uncoated on both sides — natural, tactile, and absorbent

    About Triplex Cards

Triplex cards are made by bonding three separate sheets of paper together under pressure. The outer sheets are white — these are your printing surfaces. The center sheet is a contrasting color (in this case, black) that becomes visible only on the edges of the finished card.

The result is a card with a built-in edge detail. When you hold the card or look at it from the side, you see a crisp black line sandwiched between two white layers. This edge detail is structural — it can't wear off, fade, or chip because it's part of the paper itself.

The triplex construction also adds physical rigidity. Three bonded layers create a denser, stiffer card than a single sheet of the same thickness. The card feels solid and engineered rather than simply heavy.

Looking for a different core color? Our Custom Thick Cards product offers additional triplex options through our custom production line.

    Triplex questions

What is a triplex business card?

A triplex business card is made from three layers of paper bonded together. Our triplex cards use white paper on both sides with a black center layer, creating a visible black seam on the card edges.

Can the black core wear off?

No. The black core is structural: a separate sheet of black paper bonded between two white sheets. It can't wear off, fade or chip because it's part of the paper itself.
