    Montgomery Corporation ↗

    Built like a nameplate

Card for Montgomery Corporation in Petaluma, California: a rounded M badge and the name in brushed silver foil on charcoal stock, and a light grey reverse with green labels and hairline rules around the contact details.

Business-cards for Montgomery Corporation with silver foil stamping, charcoal + grey and two-sided.

    The idea

Montgomery Corporation has provided integrated project and construction services and OSHPD Inspector of Record services to public and private owners in the California Bay Area since 1992. It is based in Petaluma.

    Two rules

    1. 01Metal on charcoal. Brushed silver foil on charcoal, like a machined nameplate.
    2. 02A structured back. Green labels and hairline rules organising each line.

    Why it works

The front looks like a nameplate and the back reads like a spec sheet, which suits a construction and inspection firm.

    Start from these materials

Same paper, foil and finish, locked in — nothing of Montgomery Corporation's artwork comes with it.

    Questions

    What is brushed foil?
A metallic foil with a fine linear texture, like brushed steel.
    Can hairline rules print cleanly?
Yes. Very thin rules are checked at proof so they print unbroken.
    Why charcoal for construction?
It reads as steel and concrete, and makes silver pop.
