Pantone neons and fluorescents (801–814) we print

Impossible in CMYK, impossible to keep. Loud for a reason, and honest about the fade.

On-screen approximation: not a colour-accurate reference. Match to a physical PANTONE® chip before you sign off.

    On our stocks

Cotton softens the fluorescent glow, while coated white keeps it clearer. Coloured stock interferes with the bright reading; an opaque coloured foil is better for coverage on dark paper, but is not a fluorescent ink match.

What to know before you specify one

    • Fluorescents fade. UV exposure kills them in months in a window, years in a drawer. They also cannot be matched in CMYK: there is no process build that reaches them, so a neon is a spot ink or it is nothing.
    • A CMYK build of a spot colour is an approximation, not the colour. It matters most on large flat solids, on brand-critical marks, and in the brights and deep blues where process simply cannot reach. It matters least in small type and inside photography.

    Common questions

Do these neons & fluorescents (801–814) shift on uncoated stock?
Yes. Uncoated fibres absorb the ink, so it generally reads softer and less saturated. Judge the physical chip that matches your stock.
Can I get these neons & fluorescents (801–814) on dark paper?
Standard offset and letterpress inks are translucent. For light colour on dark paper, choose opaque foil or a suitable screen-printing pass instead.
Can you match one of these in CMYK instead?
No exact fluorescent match is possible in CMYK. A process approximation loses the glow.
Will fluorescent ink stay bright in a window?
Fluorescent colours fade with light exposure. They suit short-lived pieces better than long-term display, and cannot be reproduced exactly with a CMYK build.
