Gmund Colors Matt 40 · Crimson + bright gold foil
Saturated dyed-through red under a metallic. The felt-matte surface kills every reflection around the stamp, so the gold is the only thing in the piece that moves under light. Pigment and metallic foils are the honest route on this range — anything lighter than the sheet has to sit on top of it, not soak into it.

Champagne is the only honest way to get a light mark onto a sheet this dark — ink would sink into it. On a smooth dyed-through stock the foil sits proud and the sheet stays matte around it.
