Pantone® 281 Uncoated: Pantone 281 en uncoated papel
Translúcido: no cubre papel oscuro. Los impresores lo escriben PMS 281 U; las guías de marca suelen escribirlo Pantone® 281 Uncoated. Misma tinta, misma plancha: la letra es el papel sobre el que cae. En coated papel del mismo color es PMS 281 C, y no se ve igual.

Estucado o no estucado, con honestidad
The same ink is not the same colour on the two stocks. On coated sheets the ink sits on a sealed surface: denser, brighter, sharper edges. On uncoated the fibres absorb it: softer, duller, slightly lighter, and warm colours lose the most punch. Some colours change character outright: brights go chalky, deep navies go grey-blue.

Sobre papel oscuro
Offset and letterpress inks are translucent. On a dark or coloured stock a light ink will not cover: it sinks into the sheet and reads tone-on-tone. For light colour on dark paper the answer is foil stamping or an opaque screen pass, never a straight PMS hit.

- Más suave, más apagado y algo más claro que la muestra estucada. Las fibras sin estucar absorben la tinta en lugar de dejarla sobre una superficie sellada, así que la saturación baja en general. La muestra sin estucar se ha modelado a partir de la aproximación estucada: pide el kit de muestras o pídenos que seleccionemos las tintas después de tu pedido.

- Not as a standard ink hit. Pantone 281 is translucent, so on dark stock the paper colour comes through and the result is tone-on-tone. For this colour on dark paper we foil stamp or run an opaque screen instead.
- Can Pantone 281 be matched in CMYK?
- A veces. Una mezcla en cuatricromía suele ser aceptable dentro de imágenes o en texto pequeño, y suele notarse en un plano sólido grande o en una marca. Si es el color de tu marca, mantenlo como tinta directa.
