Pantone® Rhodamine Red Coated: Pantone Rhodamine Red em coated papel
Translúcido: não cobre papel escuro. As gráficas escrevem PMS Rhodamine Red C; as normas de marca costumam escrevê-lo Pantone® Rhodamine Red Coated. A mesma tinta, a mesma chapa: a letra é o papel onde assenta. Em uncoated papel da mesma cor é PMS Rhodamine Red U, e não tem o mesmo aspeto.

Couché ou não couché, com franqueza
The same ink is not the same colour on the two stocks. On coated sheets the ink sits on a sealed surface: denser, brighter, sharper edges. On uncoated the fibres absorb it: softer, duller, slightly lighter, and warm colours lose the most punch. Some colours change character outright: brights go chalky, deep navies go grey-blue.

Comportamento em produção
- Rosa-magenta intenso, muito fora do CMYK. Desvanece mais depressa do que os vermelhos vizinhos sob luz forte, embora não tão depressa como um verdadeiro fluorescente.
Em papel escuro
Offset and letterpress inks are translucent. On a dark or coloured stock a light ink will not cover: it sinks into the sheet and reads tone-on-tone. For light colour on dark paper the answer is foil stamping or an opaque screen pass, never a straight PMS hit.

Uma construção CMYK de uma cor direta é uma aproximação, não a cor. Importa sobretudo em grandes áreas sólidas, em marcas essenciais à identidade e nos tons vivos e azuis profundos, onde a quadricromia simplesmente não chega. Importa menos em texto pequeno e dentro de fotografias.

- Mais suave, mais baço e um pouco mais claro do que a amostra couché. As fibras não revestidas absorvem a tinta em vez de a deixarem à superfície selada, por isso a saturação desce em toda a gama. - Not as a standard ink hit. Pantone Rhodamine Red is translucent, so on dark stock the paper colour comes through and the result is tone-on-tone. For this colour on dark paper we foil stamp or run an opaque screen instead.
- Can Pantone Rhodamine Red be matched in CMYK?
