Our custom gift tags are made for the tag you tie to a client gift, a hamper or a wrapped box. They're 32pt cotton, stamped with real hot foil, drilled and strung with cotton string, and left blank on the back so someone can write the note by hand. The fixed-price Signature tag is 2 × 3.5 inches and starts at $249 for 100 gift tags, or $395 for 250. Round tags, letterpress, painted edges and ribbon are quoted through the Studio.
Gift tags take about 3 weeks of production after you approve the proof, plus transit. For December gifts, that means approving a proof by early November. The dates are below, and every one of them is an estimate, not a guarantee.

Mit Signature ab 250 beginnen.
At 32pt the tag is already about as thick as a credit card, far heavier than the folded paper tags in a gift-wrap aisle. For most gifts that weight, plus one foil and a handwritten name, does the whole job. Move up to Atelier when the gift itself is small and expensive. Go custom when the shape, the ribbon or the names matter as much as the mark.

Count back from the day the gifts get packed, not the day they're opened. If your team or a gifting company packs the boxes in early December, the tags have to be on the packing table before that.
Pressed tags take time: about 3 weeks of production after you approve the proof, plus shipping. For tags in hand in the first week of December, approve your proof by Friday, October 30. Friday, November 6 is the last date we'd recommend for December.

Personalisierte Geschenkanhänger: ein Stift oder ein Name in Folie
Most gift tags carry the brand on the front and a person on the back. That's why the Signature tag's back is blank. Uncoated cotton takes a ballpoint, a gel pen or a pencil cleanly, and a handwritten name does more for a gift than any finish we sell. If you plan to use a fountain pen or a wet felt-tip, test it on a sample first, because soft cotton can feather a very wet line.
The landmine is foil. Pen ink doesn't grip a metal film, so it skips and smears. If you want "To" and "From" printed on the tag (that makes it a custom tag), we set those words in foil, at least 7 pt so the foil doesn't fill in, and leave the writing space as bare paper. Fine writing rules hold in foil to 0.1 mm; we design to 0.15 mm and adjust only lines below the floor.
A different name on every tag is possible, but it changes the price. Foil is stamped from a metal die, and every different name needs its own die, so names in foil are priced per name. Names in ink avoid the die cost, if your order qualifies.

It's faster, it costs nothing extra, and a name in someone's own hand is warmer than anything we can stamp. For a long list, ask for a quote, and we'll price names in foil against names in ink so you can choose.

Client and team gifts. Corporate gift tags go on a holiday box, a bottle or a hamper, and the tag is often the only printed piece in the gift. One foil mark on the front, a handwritten line from whoever signs it on the back. Order the tags with matching foil seals and an insert card, and the whole gift reads as one piece of work.
Wedding favor tags. Your names or monogram and the date, one design for every favor. Small favors want a smaller tag, such as a 1.5 × 3 inch or a 2-inch round. Wedding favor tags are quoted with the rest of your wedding stationery rather than sold from the fixed-price ladder above, so ask for a quote and tell us the wedding date. Use the same foil as your wedding invitations and the favor table matches the suite. Guest names on each tag follow the per-name rule in section 5.
Retail gift-wrap programmes. A shop's gift-wrap counter goes through tags fast in December. A tag with your mark tied to every wrapped purchase is a small cost per gift at the 500 and 1,000 tiers. Pair it with a foil seal on the paper.
Bottles, jars and food gifts. A tag on an elastic loop slips over a bottle neck or a jar lid with no knot to tie on the packing line. Elastic loops are a custom option.
Product launches and PR boxes. A tag tied around a custom box is the cheapest way to put your foil on the outside of the package without stamping the box itself.

Two rules apply to every gift tag. White on a dark tag is white pigment foil, never white ink, because ink sinks into dark cotton and turns chalky. And foil stays at least 3 mm in from the edge and the hole, or runs right off the edge, because a sliver of foil at the trim looks like a mistake.

- Cotton string (fixed-price tags): natural, black or white. Knots cleanly on a box or a bottle neck. The fixed-price tags arrive drilled and strung.
- Ribbon: reads more festive than string. A drilled hole sized for string is too small for most ribbon, so ribbon tags get a wider hole or a die-cut slot, quoted as custom.
- Waxed cotton cord: stiffer than string and holds a crisp knot.
- Elastic loop: slips over a bottle neck or a jar lid.

A gift tag rarely travels alone. Foil seals close the tissue or the wrap in the same foil colours, from $195 for 250. Our packaging insert cards use the same 32pt cotton and foils, from $259 for 100. Order them together and we check them against one approved spec, so the gold on the seal is the gold on the tag.
One thing worth knowing up front: the same foil looks slightly brighter on smooth seal stock than on textured cotton, because the cotton fibres break up the reflection. We'll show you that on the proof rather than promise an identical look.

Ein quadratischer Anhänger auf 50pt hochweißer Baumwolle, gelocht zum Aufhängen am Produkt, mit dem Zeichen in Champagnerfolie. The 48pt duplex Atelier tag with foil and a deboss is 625 € for 250, 849 € for 500 and 1.295 € for 1,000. Round tags, ribbon, letterpress and painted edges are quoted.
Wie hoch ist die Mindestmenge für individuelle Geschenkanhänger?
100 Anhänger beim Signature tag und 250 beim Atelier tag. Brauchen Sie weniger, fragen Sie uns. Kleinere Auflagen sind auf Anfrage möglich, doch der Stückpreis steigt deutlich, da Folienwerkzeug und Maschineneinrichtung bei jeder Menge gleich viel kosten.
Kann ich die Anhänger beschriften?
Ja. Die Rückseite des Signature-Anhängers ist unbedruckte, ungestrichene Baumwolle und lässt sich sauber mit Kugelschreiber, Gelstift oder Bleistift beschriften. Testen Sie Füller oder nasse Filzstifte vorher an einem Muster, denn weiche Baumwolle kann eine sehr nasse Linie ausfransen lassen. Auf Folie sollten Sie nicht schreiben: Tinte perlt auf dem Metallfilm ab und verschmiert. Schreibflächen bleiben daher blankes Papier.
Wann Geschenkanhänger für die Feiertage bestellen?
Damit Sie die Anhänger in der ersten Dezemberwoche in Händen halten, geben Sie Ihren Proof etwa bis Freitag, 30. Oktober frei. Freitag, 6. November ist der späteste Proof-Termin, den wir für Dezember empfehlen. Die Anhänger kommen dann etwa am 7.–11. Dezember an. Dies sind Schätzungen, keine Garantien. Kann jeder Anhänger einen anderen Namen tragen?
Ja, das ändert jedoch den Preis. Folie wird mit einem Metallklischee geprägt, und jeder Name braucht ein eigenes Klischee. Namen in Folie werden daher pro Name berechnet. In Farbe gedruckte Namen vermeiden diese Kosten, sofern Ihre Bestellung dafür infrage kommt. Bei einigen Dutzend Empfängern ist es schneller, günstiger und persönlicher, die Namen auf die leere Rückseite zu schreiben.
Werden die Geschenkanhänger mit Kordel oder Band geliefert?
Die Festpreis-Anhänger werden gelocht und mit Baumwollschnur in Natur, Schwarz oder Weiß versehen. Band, gewachste Baumwollkordel und Gummischlaufen sind individuelle Optionen. Band braucht ein größeres Loch oder einen gestanzten Schlitz als Schnur, deshalb werden Anhänger mit Band individuell kalkuliert.
Welche Größe für Geschenkanhänger?
2 × 3.5 Zoll (50,8 × 88,9 mm) passt zu den meisten Schachteln, Flaschen und Präsentkörben und ist das Format unserer Anhänger zum Festpreis. Ein runder Anhänger mit 2 oder 2.5 Zoll (50,8 oder 63,5 mm) wirkt festlicher und eignet sich für Weihnachtsgeschenke und Hochzeitsgastgeschenke. Für kleine Gastgeschenke und Schmuckschachteln passt ein Anhänger mit 1.5 × 3 Zoll (38,1 × 76,2 mm). Jedes Format außer 2 × 3.5 wird als Sonderanfertigung kalkuliert.

Bestellen Sie sie zusammen, prüfen wir sie anhand einer freigegebenen Spezifikation. Dieselbe Folie wirkt auf glattem Siegelmaterial etwas heller als auf strukturierter Baumwolle. Kann ich vor der Bestellung von Geschenkanhängern ein Muster sehen?
Ja. Unser Musterset kostet 9 € und enthält ein Guthaben von 15 € für Ihre erste Bestellung. Es ist auf Visitenkarten ausgelegt, nicht auf Geschenkanhänger, enthält aber Muster unserer Papiere und Veredelungen sowie die Heißfolien-Musterkarte mit allen Folien, die wir vorrätig haben. So beurteilen Sie Papier, Folie und Ihren Stift in Ihrem eigenen Licht.

Welches Papier eignet sich für Geschenkanhänger?
Für einen Anhänger, auf den jemand schreibt, eignet sich ein dickes ungestrichenes Papier. Unsere sind aus 32pt Baumwolle: weich, matt und etwa so dick wie eine Kreditkarte. So behält der Anhänger auf einer Schachtel seine Form, und ein Stift gleitet sauber über die Rückseite. Glänzend gestrichener Karton wirkt klar, doch Kugelschreiber- und Gelfarbe bleibt auf der Beschichtung liegen und kann verschmieren. Trägt der Anhänger auch eine Prägung, kaschieren wir zwei Bogen zu 48pt Duplex, damit die Prägung auf der Schreibseite nicht sichtbar ist.
