    Numerai ↗

A pattern you see only at an angle

Numerai card on 48pt black uncoated stock: a black debossed foil layer, white non-metallic pigment foil for the front mark and back contact information, then another black foil layer over the top.

Business-cards for Numerai with black debossed, white pigment and black overlay foil stamping, 48pt black uncoated stock and two-sided.

    The idea

Numerai is an AI-run, crowdsourced hedge fund based in San Francisco, founded in 2015 by Richard Craib. Data scientists submit models to its tournament, and the fund trades on the combined predictions. JPMorgan Asset Management has secured $500 million in capacity in the fund.

    Two rules

    1. 01Black foil with a debossed bite. A first layer of black foil debossed into the 48pt black uncoated stock for the angular glyph pattern.
    2. 02White pigment, then black foil. Non-metallic white pigment foil on the front and for contact information on the back, followed by another black foil layer on top.

    Why it works

The first black foil layer gives the glyph pattern a debossed bite; white pigment foil makes the mark and contacts legible, with a final black foil layer completing the stack.

    Start from these materials

Same paper, foil and finish, locked in — nothing of Numerai's artwork comes with it.

    Questions

Is the gloss pattern spot UV?
No. This card uses layered black foil, including a debossed black foil layer.
How is the white printed on black?
It is stamped with non-metallic white pigment foil rather than white ink.
    Is the back finished too?
Yes. The contact information on the reverse uses white pigment foil.
