Stickers and seals are the last thing you touch before a box ships, and the first thing someone touches when it lands. We make them in metallic foil, clear vinyl, colour-shift holographic, and kiss-cut on premium stock — plus stamped foil seals as the modern alternative to wax. The difference between a sticker that looks like a sticker and one that reads as part of the packaging is usually a decision made in the file, not at press. Below is what to decide before you send artwork.
Foil is stamped, not printed — which changes how you design it
Foil arrives as a thin metallic film. A heated die presses it into the stock, and the foil releases only where the die makes contact. There is no ink, no dot pattern, no gradient. Every foil area is either fully covered or bare stock.
That physics has consequences. Gradients, drop shadows, and halftone screens can't be stamped — they have to be redrawn as solid shapes. Fine lines hold down to about 0.5pt, but small type is where things go wrong: counters in an 'e' or an 'a' fill in and the letter turns into a blob. Keep type at 6pt or larger. A specialist reviews your art and flags anything that won't hold before the die is cut.
Clear vinyl shows whatever it's stuck to
This is the landmine nobody mentions until the stickers arrive. Transparent vinyl has no opacity of its own, so printed colour sits on top of whatever surface is underneath. Stick a navy logo on a kraft box and the navy goes muddy. Put it on black and it can vanish.
Two ways out. Design for translucency on purpose — a single foil or dark line mark on clear film looks like it was printed directly on the box, which is the whole appeal. Or build the artwork so it doesn't depend on a light background. Colour-shift holographic film behaves the same way: it moves your printed colours as the viewing angle changes, so keep art bold and simple and let the film do the work.
Kiss-cut leaves the backing whole, and that's the point
A kiss-cut blade cuts through the face stock and adhesive but stops at the liner. The backing sheet stays intact, so stickers peel cleanly with a fingernail and don't shed off a sheet in transit. Premium adhesive papers, soft-touch and matte vinyl all kiss-cut cleanly.
Two details worth setting now. Give shapes a slight corner radius — sharp points are the first thing to lift and curl once someone handles the sheet. And if you're combining foil with kiss-cut, we recommend a heavier stock so the foil registers crisply against the cut edge. Thin stock lets the die push the sheet around and the foil drifts off the shape.

Foil reads differently than ink — a metallic surface bounces light rather than absorbing it, so it will never be a literal match to a flat swatch.
