How to set the file up
- 4×9 trim plus 0.125" bleed.
- Keep the top third clear of critical copy — that is all a rack shows.
- Cover weight only; text weight slumps in a holder.
Rack cards — questions we get
- Why 16pt and not something lighter?
- A rack card is unsupported for most of its height. Below about 16pt it bows forward in the holder and the top third — the only part anyone sees — stops facing the room.
- Can rack cards be double-sided?
- Yes, and they should be. The back is the part someone reads after they pick it up, which is the only moment that matters.
- Do you do rounded corners on rack cards?
- Yes — rounded corners are a standard die and cost very little at this size. They also stop the corners from dog-earing in the rack.
- Will foil crack on a 4×9?
- No. Foil is stamped flat and there is no fold, so there is nothing for the film to crack across. A fold through a foiled area is the only place that becomes a real question.
- What holder sizes does 4×9 fit?
- 4×9 is the standard brochure-rack pocket. If you are filling a bespoke holder, send us the internal dimension and we will cut to it.
