    Common questions

    Can I order a sample of these papers?
    Yes. Every stock in this directory is one we print on, and we send physical samples before you commit. Screens misrepresent paper colour and texture badly — the swatch images here are a guide, never a colour match.
    What does dyed-through mean?
    The colour goes all the way through the sheet rather than sitting on the surface. When the card is cut, debossed, or die-cut, the exposed edge is the same colour as the face — no white core. Colorplan, Materica, Gmund Cotton and Wild are all dyed through.
    Which papers take letterpress best?
    Soft, thick, uncoated sheets. Cotton is our default, with Materica and Gmund Cotton close behind. Letterpress ink is semi-translucent, so on dark stocks it reads tone-on-tone rather than as a clean colour — on dark paper we foil instead.
    Do you print on all of these in every product?
    No. Availability varies by product and by run size — a 350gsm Colorplan sheet behaves differently as a business card than as a folded invitation. Tell us the product and we will confirm the stock before anything is charged.
