How it behaves in production
- Dyed through — the cut edge is the same black as the face. Never render a white core.
- Matte, light-absorbing surface. Anything light on it is FOIL, never ink — litho and digital whites go grey on this sheet.
- A blind emboss barely reads here: there is no colour shift, only a shadow. A clear gloss foil pass is the honest substitute.
Common questions
- Is Black uncoated 32pt dyed through?
- No. Black uncoated 32pt is not a dyed-through sheet, so a cut edge will not match the printed face. If you need a coloured edge on this stock we add painted edging as a separate operation.
- Can you letterpress on Black uncoated 32pt?
- We do not recommend letterpress on Black uncoated 32pt. For light type on this stock we use foil stamping instead, which is opaque and sits cleanly on the surface.
- What weights do you stock Black uncoated 32pt in?

- Can I see it before I order?
