Metallized Foils

Great Western's metallized range — the vacuum-metallised films, and the largest group on their chart. This is the workhorse group for gold, silver and metallic colour hot stamping, and it includes their scratch-off grades.
Matte Pigments
0 quality grades
Opaque, non-metallic pigment foils with a flat surface. This is what you specify for a solid brand colour or a clean white on dark stock, where a metallic would fight the design rather than serve it.
Gloss Pigments

The gloss side of Great Western's pigment range, plus the clears and pearls. Clear gloss and clear holographic live here — the passes that add surface rather than colour.
Pigments Not On The Chart

Pigment colours Great Western prints a sample card for that do not appear on the summary chart we hold. The card set is the real inventory — we can order these — so they are published from the photograph. We do not say whether they sit in the matte or the gloss programme, because the chart is the only thing that would tell us and it does not list them.
Holographics, Glitters & Patterns

Great Western's 800 and 900 series: films that carry a pattern rather than a colour. Holographic sparkle, glitter grounds and split effects. We publish no colour swatch for the patterned ones on purpose — averaging a rainbow gives you a muddy brown that exists nowhere on the foil. What you see here is a photograph of the vendor's own stamped card, which is the only honest way to show them. These read best on solid shapes and heavier type; they will fight fine rules.
We hold Great Western’s sales-programme sheet — the quality grades and the colour numbers they run against — but not the colour chart that says what each number looks like.
