Aseptic brick, aluminium-free
Ambient drinks where the carbon figure matters more than the longest possible shelf life.

- Best for
- Ambient drinks where a lower carbon figure and simpler recycling matter more than the longest possible shelf life.
- Structure
- Paperboard with a polymer barrier (plant-based or EVOH variants) and no aluminium foil layer.
- Print methods
- Flexo · Offset on the board before lamination
- Finishes
- Matte varnish · Gloss varnish
- After use
- Two materials to separate (board and polymer) instead of three. It still goes into carton collection, not the plastics bin.
How it's built
Outside to inside

- 1Polyethylene outer coat
- 2Paperboard
- 3Polyethylene tie layer
- 4Polymer barrier film
- 5Polyethylene food-contact layer
Look and feel
From the outside it looks exactly like a standard brick. The difference is inside: a pale, milky surface instead of silver.
Printing on it
Same print route as the standard brick.
Barrier and shelf life
A thin polymer barrier replaces the foil. Makers rate it for months at room temperature, but test your own product, above all anything sensitive to light.
Run sizes
Cartons are formed, filled and sealed on the drink maker's filling line, so the carton is printed on the roll that line runs. Minimums are set by the carton maker and your filler, and they sit far above a box or label job. We design the artwork and prepare press-ready files for your carton maker or co-packer.
After use
Two materials to separate (board and polymer) instead of three. It still goes into carton collection, not the plastics bin.
