How it behaves in production
- Gmund Leather — deep midnight navy. Embossed leather-grain surface (grained leatherette, not real leather). Reads tactile and premium.
- Letterpress tone-on-tone only. Foil (metallic or pigment) is the hero — the grain breaks up foil beautifully into a bookbinding feel.
- Blind deboss reads strong against the grain. White ink or foil for any legibility-critical text.
- Statement tier — never a default; strong for hospitality, spirits, jewellery, high-end menswear, moody wedding briefs.
Common questions
- Is Gmund Leather Night dyed through?
- No. Gmund Leather Night is not a dyed-through sheet, so a cut edge will not match the printed face. If you need a coloured edge on this stock we add painted edging as a separate operation.
- Can you letterpress on Gmund Leather Night?
- Yes — it is one of the techniques we run on this stock. Letterpress ink is semi-translucent, so on darker shades it reads tone-on-tone; on light shades it prints as expected.
- What weights do you stock Gmund Leather Night in?
- 300 gsm. Heavier weights can usually be duplexed to order — ask and we will confirm before quoting.
- Can I see it before I order?
- Yes, and you should. Screens flatten texture and shift colour. We send physical samples of any stock in this directory before you commit.
