Sandpaper Sweet ↗Linework in foil, colour on the back
Card for Sandpaper Sweet: a mushroom and hand-with-blade illustration and the name in holographic foil on matte black with 'Tattoos – Commissions – Murals' in violet foil, and a full-colour painted portrait with peonies on the reverse.

The idea
Sandpaper Sweet is a Denver tattoo artist working in a neo-illustrative style at Nest Art Collective, known for dark imagery in bright colour. The card also advertises commissions and murals.
Two rules
- 01Linework as foil. Holographic foil for the illustration and name, with violet foil for the services line.
- 02Show the colour work. A full-colour painting on the reverse.
Why it works
The front shows the linework and the back shows the colour, so the card covers both halves of the portfolio.
Start from these materials
Same paper, foil and finish, locked in — nothing of Sandpaper Sweet's artwork comes with it.
Questions
- Can fine linework be foiled?
- Yes. Very fine lines can fill in, so we check the thinnest strokes at proof.
- Can foil and full colour go on opposite sides?
- Yes. Each side is printed and finished separately.
- What should a tattoo artist's card show?
- Real work. A drawing on one side and colour on the other covers most portfolios.
