Opaque white pigment foil
A flat, opaque, non-metallic foil. This is the correct — and only — way to put genuinely white type on a dark sheet. Letterpress ink is semi-translucent and will not do this job.

Watch out for
- Pigment lays thicker than metallic — keep counters open on tight typefaces and allow a hair more trap.
Premium vs value, honestly
On smooth dark stock all four houses cover in a single hit. On heavily textured and felt-marked sheets the premium domestic pigments are meaningfully better — the value film needs a second pass or the fibre shows through.

Will your logo hold in foil?
Foil needs a minimum line weight of 0.5 pt and counters no smaller than 1.5 mm. Anything finer fills in or flakes off the sheet. Send the file and we will tell you before the die is cut.
