CHENHUI stamping foil
Our value line and the one we run most. On coated and uncoated paper at accent coverage it stands up to anything on this page for a fraction of the roll cost. It gives ground on difficult substrates, on very fine detail, and on batch-to-batch colour consistency.
The house foil card
One card, 40 stamped films — the foils we keep on the shelf and reach for first. Every photograph here is that card, shot under studio light. Foil is metallised film, so no screen can match it; the card is the honest version, and we will send you one.
Front
The everyday metals and pigments: golds, silvers, coppers and the solid colours that carry most of our stamping work.

Back
The special-effect face — holographic, diffraction and pattern films, which only really read in motion.

Programmes we run
Standard Gold & Silver
0 quality grades
The bright metallic workhorse chart, and the range most Print Peppermint foil work is actually stamped with. Forty-two golds and silvers running from a green-cast pale gold to a deep antique — on coated and uncoated paper at accent coverage these hold their own against film costing several times as much.
Metallized Colour
0 quality grades
Tinted colour over a mirror ground, so the colour carries the metal's depth instead of sitting flat on top of it. This is the chart behind a metallic burgundy, a metallic teal or a copper that still reads as metal rather than as a printed brown.
Matte Gold & Silver
0 quality grades
The same metals with the mirror taken out. 171M matte gold is the house standard gold — the one in most of our sample kits and the default the Studio reaches for when a brief just says 'gold foil'. On uncoated and textured stock a matte metal is consistently the more considered choice; a mirror shows every fibre.
Matte Colour
0 quality grades
Flat, opaque colour with no metal in it. This is what you specify for a brand colour that has to sit on dark stock exactly as drawn — the case where a metallic would fight the design rather than serve it, and where translucent ink would simply sink.
Solid Colour Pigment
0 quality grades
The core opaque pigment set: white, red, green, blue, grey and two blacks. Small chart, heavy use. The white is the answer to light type on a dark uncoated sheet, which is the single most common thing a translucent ink cannot do.
Pearl Pigment
0 quality grades
Soft pearlescent colour, and the one Chenhui family that is PARTIALLY TRANSLUCENT — their own chart says so. On white and pale stock these are lovely; over a dark sheet the stock reads through and the colour goes with it. Treat them as a light-stock finish and specify an opaque pigment when the ground is dark.
Gold & Silver Holographic Patterns
0 quality grades
Diffraction films on a gold or silver ground: kaleidoscope, snowflake, flowing sand, maze, cat's eye, pine needle. These are patterns, not colours, and we publish no swatch for them on purpose — averaging a rainbow gives you a muddy brown that exists nowhere on the foil. They read best on solid shapes and heavy type and will fight fine rules.
Specialty Holographic Patterns
0 quality grades
The coloured-ground diffraction programme — red, green and blue grounds carrying the same pattern vocabulary as the gold and silver chart. The colour is in the film, so a green kaleidoscope stays green as it moves rather than cycling the whole spectrum. Same rules apply: solid shapes and heavy type, never hairlines.
Black Holographic
0 quality grades
Two films only, and unlike anything else on this page: a black ground that throws a diffraction pattern when the light catches it. Nearly invisible flat, spectacular at an angle. The whole effect depends on raking light, so they belong on a surface that gets handled.
We hold CHENHUI’s sales-programme sheet — the quality grades and the colour numbers they run against — but not the colour chart that says what each number looks like. So there are no individual CHENHUI colour pages yet. Browse by finish instead, and we confirm the exact grade and colour number on your quote.
