How it behaves in production

Materica — deep matte black pitch. Cotton + wool/algae fibre blend with a chunky natural texture — reads architectural and raw.
Letterpress tone-on-tone only. Foil (metallic + white pigment) is the hero — the chunky fibre catches foil beautifully.
Blind deboss reads strong against the fibre. Statement tier — never a default; strong for architecture, art-world, editorial briefs.

Common questions

Is Materica Pitch dyed through?: Yes. The colour runs all the way through the sheet, so a cut, debossed, or die-cut edge shows the same deep matte black pitch as the face — no white core.
Can you letterpress on Materica Pitch?: Yes — it is one of the techniques we run on this stock. Letterpress ink is semi-translucent, so on darker shades it reads tone-on-tone; on light shades it prints as expected.
What weights do you stock Materica Pitch in?: 250 gsm. Heavier weights can usually be duplexed to order — ask and we will confirm before quoting.
Can I see it before I order?: Yes, and you should. Screens flatten texture and shift colour. We send physical samples of any stock in this directory before you commit.
