Letterpress Printed Business Cards
36 designs in our gallery
Letterpress business cards are printed by pressing an inked plate directly into the paper, leaving a tactile impression that reads as much through the fingertips as the eyes. The process rewards restraint — deep deboss works best with bold typography, clean geometry, and limited color, which is why most letterpress work skews toward black, neutral, or single-color palettes on uncoated stock.
Cards are typically produced on cotton or thick uncoated paper ranging from 600gsm to 1,200gsm for duplex builds, giving them a weight that feels deliberate in hand. Impression depth, ink coverage, and paper selection are the three variables that change everything — a 32pt cotton card with a deep hit reads entirely differently from an 18pt uncoated sheet with a kiss impression. Letterpress pairs naturally with edge painting and foil when you want contrast between the soft stock and a harder finish detail, though many of the strongest cards here use nothing but the press itself.
Standard production runs four to six business days once artwork is approved; custom die work adds time depending on complexity. Browse the 36 real customer designs below to see how the technique holds across a range of industries, layouts, and paper weights.
