How it behaves in production
- Dead-matte black metal — absorbs light, no sheen, no brushed grain.
- Laser engraving cuts through the black coating to a bright silver mark — the contrast IS the design.
Common questions
- Is Matte black metal dyed through?
- No. Matte black metal is not a dyed-through sheet, so a cut edge will not match the printed face. If you need a coloured edge on this stock we add painted edging as a separate operation.
- Can you letterpress on Matte black metal?
- We do not recommend letterpress on Matte black metal. For light type on this stock we use foil stamping instead, which is opaque and sits cleanly on the surface.
- What weights do you stock Matte black metal in?
